If this is not my favorite moment of the episode I don’t know what it is.
Two things:

- John jumps in, like literally, pull rank and go with it like a boss and it’s so smooth and easy and he’s just in his thing. I’ve always wondered how at ease John was with the military rank that was his, and this confirmed all the best thoughts I had of it. He owns this shit, big time.

- Sherlock is so. bloody. proud. Look at how, just before smiling, he has a bit of surprise on his face, look at his eyebrows, as in “oh… OH…”, it’s perfect. And then he’s proud as a peacock of HIS John, and goes as far as asking him if he liked doing that because he knows, he knows this is part of John’s identity, the military background, something that is intrinsically, John, yet more often than not, just subtext in his attitude, or the way he is.

The simbiosis between those two is reaching ridiculous levels.

I loved this, so much, so much in that scene.
